4th EUROPEAN MUSIC COMPETITION

After 2013, 2017 and 2023, the Luxembourg music federation Union Grand-Duc Adolphe (UGDA) organizes in 2027 the 4th European competition for wind orchestras in collaboration with the Philharmonie Luxembourg. The competition is open to the best wind orchestras and youth orchestras (concert bands, fanfare orchestras and brass bands) from all countries, an especially from Europe.
The competition will be held in two levels of difficulty: Concert Division and National Division. Orchestras from other countries than Luxembourg are only able to compete in the highest division.
There are three different categories (Wind Orchestra – Fanfare – Brass Band). Wind orchestras and youth wind orchestras compete in the same category.
Artistic director of the competition is the renowned conductor Jan COBER.
Winners 2013 : Koninklijke Harmonie van Thorn (NL), Fanfareorkest De Hoop Stellendam (NL), Brassband Buizingen (B)
Winners 2017 : Koninlijke Harmonie Sint-Martinus Opgrimbie (B), Koninlijke Fanfare Onafhankelijkheid Wiekevorst (B), Italian Brass Band (I)
Winners 2023 : Koninklijke Harmonie Ypriana (B), Fanfareorkest De Hoop Stellendam (NL), Brassband Buizingen (B)
Application will be closed by January, 15th 2027.
